As part of a large waterfront redevelopment along the former Barge Canal, Starwood Hotels & Resorts is to open a new sustainable facility in 2018. Brain McGuinness, SVP of Brands for Starwood said, “The Element brand is a great choice for the vibrant city of Syracuse and will provide visitors with a smart, sustainable extended stay option within the city’s redeveloped waterfront district.”
The Element Syracuse will boast 123 stylish, sustainable rooms and suites with custom-designed closets, dual-flush toilets and complimentary bikes. Element is the first major hotel brand to mandate that all properties pursue the U.S. Green Building Councils LEED certification and is recognized as an Industry 2.0 leader in the energy efficiency space.
At The Refinishing Touch we pride ourselves on offering clean, efficient furniture asset management services to hoteliers across the globe and we’re excited to see more leading hotel brands incorporating sustainability into their strategy from the ground up. As this new Element facility moves forward, we’re confident they’ll continue to be environmentally-conscious
